This study also compared job satisfaction among paraprofessionals with different backgrounds variables (e.g., gender, age, marital status, education level, professional background, years of providing service, students’ education stage, the disability category of students, the number of students served, job title, type of school, pre-service experience, reasons for been a paraprofessional, professional licenses, etc.) as well as explored the possible improvements of working environment for this population. The short form of “Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire” and open-ended questions were used as the tools for this general investigation. Seventy questioners were sent out, and 62 valid questionnaires were returned with an effective response rate of 88.6%. The findings were as follows: (a) paraprofessionals were satisfied with their work, (b) job satisfaction of paraprofessionals with different background were varied, (d) "get along with colleagues and students” and “be able to learn from each other and enhance knowledge" were the most common reasons that made most paraprofessionals felt satisfied with their job.
