博士 === 國立中央大學 === 中國文學系 === 101 === This doctoral thesis named ” Antecedents Recognition and Religious Rhetoric：the ultimate concern in Taiwan Novels in the 21st century”. There are many novels combined historical and religious narratives in 21st century, and the writing style is different from other novels in Post-Martial Law Period. Therefore, I'd like to observe on the phenomenon. This thesis discussed about朱西寧’s,李喬’s,王文興’s,施叔青’s,陳耀昌’s,李昂’s,宋澤萊’s,林央敏’s,陳玉慧’s,陳燁’s novels. They all use religious rhetoric to provide, to construct , to prove a viewpoint of Taiwanese history in their novels. So, I consult New historicism and the Concept of religious rhetoric to try to analyze their “ultimate concern”. The conclusion is: whatever antecedents recognition or religious belief is his/her ultimate concern, they all show the courage to be, at the same time, they create the new page for Taiwanese literature.
