Although increasing bandwidth can resolve the bandwidth shortage issue, this solution will also increase the enterprise’s operating cost. This study designs an enterprise network bandwidth planning process according to ISO/IEC 7498-4 Management Framework standard and referencing to literature reports of Gartner, which is an international management consultancy firm. This process monitors enterprise network traffic and analyzes web content. Meanwhile, this process list which applications should be provided adequate bandwidth and which traffic does not require dedicated bandwidth according to the classification of applications based on the importance of business operation needs. This study is a case study with company M, explore company M controls the usage of enterprise network bandwidth based on the network bandwidth policy of the process. The cross-reference statistics of the network bandwidth total utilization, data transmission throughput by services, and application service quality are also compared. The research results show that the positivity of benefit on saving network bandwidth usage, reducing bandwidth cost, and enhancing application service quality can be revealed after company M conducts enterprise network bandwidth planning process.
