| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立交通大學 === 應用藝術研究所 === 101 === Are you lonely? Are you afraid of being lonely? No matter how optimistic you are, you may still feel lonely once in a while. Why do people feel lonely? How can they get along with loneliness and make it a good experience of solitude?
This dissertation recorded and discussed the formation of the exhibition “There is always hope”. It is basically created from the artist’s feeling and thinking about “solitude”. The author explained the inception of the idea and the purpose for creating the work clearly. She also tried to detach herself from the piece and took different viewing angles to inspect the work to comprehend the deeper meaning of the work so that she could understand herself more completely. Then she shared the inspiration and the enlightenment obtained from creating the work as well.
The author searched, researched, gathered and organized all the materials of some related art works and artists to make the artist’s statement clearer and more comprehensive. She not only illustrated the way and the procedure of making the work but also described the installation process of “There is always hope” in great detail.
The art work was exhibited in 2012 “Stroll in the Supermarket” and it got feedback from numerous visitors and earned a lot of acclaim. The author collected all the feedback in this dissertation, too.
In view of all the problems and the challenges that the artist was faced with during the creating process, the author put forward some proposals for improving or setting the direction of further development. She also provided some useful information for those who want to make Installation Art in the future.
