Summary:碩士 === 國立體育大學 === 休閒產業經營學系碩士班 === 101 === The purpose of this study was to understand the exercise participation and need of Disabled people. There were 293 disabled people participated in the questionnaire survey. The collected data was analyzed by descriptive statistics and cross-analysis. The results were as follows. 1. Most Disabled people were males from the New Taipei City, age were between 46 to 55 and with higher education. Most of them were physical disability and in the medium levels. 2. Disabled people who ever exercise tend to exercise indoors. Most of them participate in swimming. They exercise to be healthy and usually exercise with friends. They spend 31 to 60 minutes on exercise twice a week. They spend 11 to 20 minutes on riding motorcycle to exercise. 3. In terms of sports facility, what disabled people need is swimming pool and dining area. They also need “no-skid floor” as accessible and safety facility. They mentioned that they highly required professional sports coaches and specialized sports centers beacause current sport methods and sport skill instruction as well as the accessible and safety facility can not satisfied their need. 4. The disabled people have similar exercise participation and need in terms of gender. However, both groups have different opinion on the construction of specialized sport center. According to the results, suggesting that govemment could retrain coaches who has sports license to learn sign language. In the future, specialized sports center could focus on swimming, basketball, and badminton facilities. Further studies could expand the range of survey and make it more comprehensive by qualitative research such as interview.
