Many of them are actually “Mash-Up” services, which are a combination of individual services. Usually, users have no idea about what they are composed of. Thus, when a single service fails to respond or stops working, the service users will simply report the failure of the service itself. However, it is crucial for network management to figure out the cause of the problem. Current network management technologies are developed for monitoring individual network services/devices. Therefore, there is a demand for an effective network management scheme from the perspective of services. This thesis proposes a service-oriented approach for the monitoring of mash-up Internet services. In the proposed approach, a mash-up service is described in an XML document, which indicates the set of other services used by the service. Network monitoring tasks may consult those XML documents to efficiently determine the causes of a service failure. Yen-Cheng Chen 陳彥錚 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 45 zh-TW |
