However, the relationship between cognitive function and social support is still unclear. In this study, we examined the relationship between cognitive function and social support among healthy individuals. A total of 164 healthy participants were enrolled. Cognitive function by the Wechsler Memory Scale – Revised, Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale – Revised, Wisconsin Card Sorting Test-64, and Continuous Performance Test and the perceived social support by the Measure of Support Function were performed. The indices of verbal memory, general memory, delayed recall, and performance IQ were associated with scores of perceived social support. Meanwhile, the memory index was associated with social support, particularly in females. The results also shows that the visual memory, delayed recall, performance IQ, and full-IQ are associated with perceived social support only in older than 36 years-old and less than 15-years of education. In sum, cognitive function was found to be associated with social support. Sex, age and education may moderate this association. Yen-Kuang Yang 楊延光 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 67 en_US
