Changes through the disease process, brings physical and spiritual sufferings, often remains inerasable shadows in the families' hearts and leaves the medical care staff with deep regret. Facing the limits of modern medicine, traditional Chinese medicine intervention provides another treatment. Make good use of Chinese and Western medicine, and through cooperation to improve the quality of terminally ill cancer patients' medical care, which is the advantage for developing the local hospice and palliative care. However, at the moment, in Taiwan, Chinese medicine practitioners use the concepts and principles of traditional Chinese medicine treatment in cancer patients, still need to develope Taiwanese localized information for future clinical practice references. In this study, we attempt to take the concepts and principles of Taiwanese Chinese Medicine practitioners using traditional Chinese medicine to treat terminally ill cancer patients, into preliminary systematic organized analysis and sort-out. The objective is to help the hospice and palliative team understand traditional Chinese medical treatment so that for terminally ill cancer patients and their families to choose Chinese medicine treatment as a reference. The research questions for this study: (A) What are the concepts of Chinese medicine practitioners using the traditional Chinese medicine treatment on terminally ill cancer patients? (B) What are the principles of Chinese medicine practitioners using traditional Chinese medicine treatment on terminally ill cancer patients? Use Grounded Theory as a research methodology. Study objectives selected by snowball sampling , and have in-depth interviews with seven Chinese medicine practitioners who have treated terminal cancer patients. The result of the study to get the first main categories are: Concepts of treatment. There are six sub-categories: (a) A holistic view, aim to have a balanced body; (b) Tailor to each individual patient; (c) Treatment aiming at its root causes; (d) In harmony with your current illness so one will prolong life despite illness; (e) Reflecting our inner self; (f) Patient's healing code. Second main categories are: Principles of treatment, there are five sub-categories: (a) Reinforce the healthy qi so it prevents pathogen; (b) Eliminate the pathogenic factors and not harm healthy qi; (c) Regulate one's health; (d) Chinese and Western medicine cooperation; (e) Early intervention of Chinese and Western medicine. Clinically, medicines have improved and changed over the times, the usage of Western medicine affects the way Chinese medicine diagnoses and treats patients. Chinese medicine practitioners face many challenges when treating terminally ill cancer patients. Our study suggests that the nursing staff can be the bridge between Chinese and Western medicine, to answer the queries and needs that patients have for Chinese medicine. Also, by the promotion of national health policy, expanding the usage of Chinese medicine in terminally ill cancer patients. Co-Shi Chantal Chao 趙可式 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 112 zh-TW |
