Summary: | 碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 建築學系碩博士班 === 101 === Because of the substantial change in climate and environment, the issue of environmental improvement gradually emerges and gains sustained attention. Building wall greening has been regarded as one of the major directions in the mitigation of climatic changes by countries in the world. However, in terms of building greening range, the greening of rooftop, walls, indoor space and other special space for greening besides the open space on the ground is also regarded as a developmental direction of great potentials. In addition to the function to beautify the environment, wall greening can also provide the benefits of building insulation to mitigate the impact of solar heat on building interior. The wall greening can be divided into the “supported” (trellis, independent trellis)” and “non-supported” (directly clinging to the wall) wall greening systems by auxiliary materials (supporting bracket). The supported system can be further categorized into “trellis system” and the “independent trellis system” by the connection with building walls (Chen, 2010). The independent trellis system does not need any specific plant to cling to the wall as in an unsupported system. Moreover, it does not need to be installed in the existing building walls to cause certain degree of impact. As a result, under the experimental environment and limitations, this study selected the trellis system as the research subject.
The trellis system components can be divided into the planting cover rate, support layer, wall layer, device layer, planting base plate, and the air space between the wall layer and the plant layer. According to previous studies (Hsieh, 2005), the characteristics of plant layer such as planting cover rate, thickness of planting's layer, leave color, and transpiration rate can affect the internal temperature and humidity of the building. However, the impact of the air space between the plant layer and wall layer on heat insulation has not been discussed. Measures are taken at the convenience of the manufacturer or the implementer in terms of implementation. This study used the wall greening of the trellis system as the research subject, and discussed the impact of the thickness of the air layer on heat insulation. The experiment recorded the temperature changes and gap of the interior and exterior walls under the conditions of different thickness of the air space.
