The main purpose of supply chain management is the coordination and integration of supply chain members so as to maximize individual and joint profits. Thus, upstream and downstream chain members could engage in collaborative and competition. The thesis examines the collaborative and competitive interaction between one manufacturer and two suppliers by using a game theoretical framework. In this model, suppliers 1 and 2 compete in service provision. The analysis reveals that an increase in the unit cost of the manufacture’s effort lowers supplier 2’s price, and an increase in the unit service provision cost of supplier 2 raises supplier 2’s price and lowers its profit.Furthermore, when service sensitivity increases, both the manufacturer’s profit and supplier 2’s profit will increase.
