For complex systems, two failure processes are often considered as Multiple Dependent Competing Failure Processes (MDCFP): catastrophic failure which are caused by a sudden stress from a random shock process, and soft failures which are caused jointly by continuous degradation and the additional damage due to the same shock process. Condition-based maintenance is carried out through monitoring system state to keep the system functioning in a good state. In this study, a condition-based maintenance policy is considered through monitoring the degrees of deterioration (e.g., material wear) . The expected total cost per unit time is minimized to determine the optimal maintenance threshold, and then the optimal non-periodic preventive maintenance schedules are derived. Numerical examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed model, and how the optimal condition-based maintenance policy can be applied to the complex system subject to MDCFP. A sensitivity analysis is performed and the discussion on the optimal policy are also presented. The proposed model provides decision makers with an effective method in determining the appropriate maintenance policy. Yu-Shiang Huang 黃宇翔 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 60 zh-TW
