Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 獸醫學系暨研究所 === 101 === Coccidiosis is an enteric parasitic disease and is one of the most common and expensive diseases in the poultry industry. So far, anticoccidial drug has treated the disease but have the emergence of drug resistance and drug residues on animal health and a potential constraint to the consumer. Further, vaccines also prevent coccidiosis but may have incomplete protect. The investigation of Asteraceae plant feed supplement as anticoccidial drugs therefore holds promise as an alternate in the control of coccidiosis, on condition that they prove to be safe, effective, edibility and anti-microbial. Previously, our laboratory proved Asteraceae feed supplement is effective against avian coccidiosis. We use phytochemistry methods to confirm the stability on our Asterceae feed additive which are residue-free in poultry products. So, the natural Asteraceae plants might be good feed supplement against coccidiosis.
