This paper aims to develop mixed-mode integrated digital control series switching buck DC-DC power converters. A high-speed switching converter first generates an internal voltage source (2.5V) to supply digital circuits and part of analog circuits and then a second high-speed switching converter produces the output voltage (1V). When the power is turned on, a linear regulator (LDO) supplies internal voltage source (2.5V) for the internal digital circuits. Until the high-speed switching converter output stable, the internal supplier is switched to the high-speed switching converter. After the converter supplies the internal voltage, the linear regulator shuts down in order to improve efficiency. The output is fed back via the four-bit analog to digital converter and the eight-bit nonlinear weighted proportional integral derivative controller to control the switching magnitude. When a large load changes, the magnitude raises or lowers in a weighting manner, and then according to their changes the different proportional integral derivative parameters are used to enhance the transient stability time. Ring oscillator generates the 100MHz clock, and via 8-bit digital amplitude modulation to obtain the switching frequency 372 KHz. A current mirror type voltage reference is used to generate the reference voltage of 1.25V, which provides reference for the linear regulator and the analog to digital converter. The proposed circuit is designed and simulated by using TSMC_P25HV60 technology.
