more and more common. Therefore, in insecure networks, how
to protect personal information and to ensure the effective exchange of information become important issues.
In 2012, Vorugunti et al. proposed an advanced secure remote user authentication scheme preserving user anonymity. Unfortunately, according to our study, we find that Vorugunti et al. scheme is vulnerable to offline guessing attack, impersonation attack, and does not provide the functionality of the mutual authentication.
In this thesis, we propose a security enhanced remote user authentication scheme. The proposed scheme can not only solve the weaknesses of Vorugunti et al. scheme, but also more secure when compared to some other schemes.
