Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 財務金融系所 === 101 === This paper investigated the relationship between corporate social responsibility and operating performance. We use questionnaire surveys to understand consumers'' view of corporate social responsibility and its influence on the purchase intention. We also empirical tested the corporate social responsibility relationship with both financial performance and stock price’s performance. Use the award winners of Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility which was released by the CommonWealth Magazine as our sample firms. Empirical results showed significant positive relationship between corporate social responsibilities with financial performance existed. And that there is also a significant positive relationship between corporate social responsibility performance and profitability index ,such as operating profit margin, net profit margin, earnings per share, return on assets ,and return on equity. These results showed that companies implement corporate social responsibility can improve their operating performance. Our empirical results showed that there is a negative relationship between corporate social responsibility and stock price at the award-winning year. However, there is a positively related between corporate social responsibility and stock price return in the subsequent year of award-winning. It seems that corporate social responsibility might increase stock price return in long term.
