Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 財務金融系所 === 101 === This paper studies how globalization leads to firms’ innovative activities and efficiency. This paper employs foreign sale as an indicator of globalization and uses patents and associated citations as an innovation activities indicator. The empirical results reveal a significant and positive relationship between globalization and innovation activities. Furthermore, the empirical results indicate that globalization and its associated global competitions impel managers to engage more in innovation activities. More global competitions also push managers to assess whether R&D expenditure produces more patents and enhance efficiency in innovation activities. In addition, this paper performs robustness tests to support the hypothesis.
