Summary:碩士 === 國立政治大學 === 中國文學研究所 === 101 === The spreading of Fu De Zheng Shen 福德正神 (Earth God 土地神) Belief in Nanyang (南洋) can be traced back to the history of Chinese Southward migration itself. The forms of early Chinese immigrant communities in South Pacific are based on Sub-Ethnic community, religious sites and river (water source) basic. Nanyang Chinese named the Fu De Zheng Shen as “Da Bo Gong” (大伯公), its contexts surely are connected with the religious of Earth God in mainland China, but we can differs it with the religious functions and social significance in the local Chinese societies. This Research is going to analyze Legend and Belief of Fu De Zheng Shen 福德正神 and find out the different culture of the “Da Bo Gong” (大伯公) and “Na Tuk Gong” (拿督公)beliefs in Malaysia based on the perspective of the immigration history of Chinese society. The research will be using both Historical documents analysis and Fieldwork method to look into the centennial representative temples of East and West Malaysia, as well as to discuss how both Da Bo Gong and Na Tuk Gong worship in Chinese folk beliefs influence and represent the circumstances in Malaysian Chinese Society and find out the inner meaning of the worship culture.
