Based on the above facts, the main research question of this study is: From the view of resource partitioning, would the type of industry’s cluster and knowledge flow in the mold industry of New Taipei City effect the innovation of its industry? In order to find answers to the above issue, we based on three different areas in New Taipei City, which are Sanchong, Xinzhuang, Shulin, as our research subjects of mold firms. The data were gathered in questionnaires, followed by empirical results. Results of this study:For the mold industry clusters in New Taipei City, (1) the deeper the resources are shared between the firms, the better the industries’ innovations are. (2) the higher level of knowledge flows between firms, the better the industries’ innovations are. (3) the closer the firms’ vertical partnerships are and the higher level of knowledge flows between the firms is, the less the industries’ innovations are. (4) the more intense of horizontal competitions between the firms are and the higher level of knowledge flows between the firms is, the less the industries’ innovations are. (5) the more resources shared between the firms and the higher level of knowledge flows between the firms is, the less the industries’ innovations are. From the above five discoveries, there are abundant meanings in both theoretical and practical implications for the mold industry’s manufacturers in New Taipei City.
