Description
Summary:碩士 === 明志科技大學 === 工業工程與管理研究所 === 101 === Because the profits of the functional cellphone have dropped significantly recently, more and more cellphone manufacturers devote their production to smart phone manufacturing. In the third quarter of 2011, the sales of the global mobile phone are 440 millions which is 5.6% more than the same quarter of last year. Within the 440 millions sales, 26% of them are smart phone which is 42% more than the same quarter of last year. The booming mobile phone market has also increased the demand of the small and medium size panel. However, due to the high capital investment of the equipment in the panel industry, adding more machines for more production will affect the industry financially. Therefore, efficiently and effectively operating the equipment is usually applied in the panel industry. This research implements Six Sigma method in One Drop Filling (ODF) process to simplify the manufacturing process and improve the capacity utilization to increase the monthly production. The results show that the production increases from 31,200 panels per month to 34,200 panels per month which leads to cost saving of 147.2 millions for the industry.
