In its early stage, it was most commonly used in commercial buildings and public areas. As time goes by, we see constant improvements in both quality of life and living environment, and with population figures continuing to rise, living spaces is gradually compressed. Due to the compressed space, people started to create their own private space, with a significant increase in internal renovations and door, gradually more and more household applications were found for the door closer products. The development of the door closer began from the need of security and social progress. With an even more competitive functionality, and ever changing form of design, the efficiency of production gradually improved. More and more consumers want functionality, convenience, aesthetics, and simplicity of installation. Majority of the early designs of the door closer were either using hydraulic or pneumatic actions. People found, problems such the limitations of installation, position, opening angle, maneuvering, weight limit, and closing force. And there are other problems including difficulty in installing high structures, lost of functionality due to the damage to smaller parts in the product, and low durability. In this thesis, in order to improve the traditional door closer and its shortcomings, we propose a rotary door closer design, with advantages in simple structure, low price, aesthetics, functionality, durability, etc, and is coupled with the use of innovative design of spring hinges. These design improvements make the new one much better than the traditional closers. It is believed that the results on product design also meet the regulations of the CNS and European EN.
