Summary: | 碩士 === 明新科技大學 === 工業工程與管理系碩士班 === 101 === In a highly competitive environmental, how to sustain a profitable business is a challenge. A well-designed business model is a key to the success of a business; particularly enterprise value and sales performance are the crucial points of the model. Value innovation can reform the company to face business adversity. Only through sales force, values could be converted into revenues. This study presents a methodology to innovate company’s value and promote sales force’s performance.
The methodology applies the business model to express business concept as a static model, and then to utilize system dynamics to project the “dynamic” operating results of the model. The business model is spanned as nine building blocks, i.e., customer segments, value propositions, channels, and customer relationships, revenue streams, key resources, key activities, key partners, cost structure. The elements of a building block may associate with the elements in other building blocks. Each element could be decomposed as factors which form the infrastructure of a dynamic model. Enhanced with causal relationships and formulae, the dynamic model could simulate the operation to obtain the quantitative results of the business concept.
To implement the methodology, this study applies Osterwalder’s “Business Model Canvas” to acquire the elements of the static model; then decomposes each element to build the map (the infrastructure) of i-Think model, a dynamic model, including enhance causal relationships and formulae to simulate business operations.
For Business practice, we can form the existing business model, the as-is model, then build dynamic model to understand the current problems. New business models, to-be models, could be established via some innovative ideas, such as Blue Ocean Strategy and SWOT analysis, in this thesis. Through the simulation of the dynamic model, executives can foresee the results of the new idea after changing the business concept. This study applies the methodology to Y Company as a demonstration, after understanding the current business model to innovate more profitable future one.
Innovating business model and foreseeing system dynamics provide a more comprehensive business model formation and its simulated business operation before real business implementation. This study helps executives or entrepreneurs to simplify the process from establishing business concepts to finally getting the operating results.
