Summary: | 碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 管理學院高階經理碩士學程 === 101 === In the semiconductor industry, the distribution channels play an essential role. They help the suppliers to better meet their customers needs with informed inventory management, and support the customers with on-time order fulfillment and, sometimes, technical support. How these distributors enhance their values and competitiveness motivated this study.
This study interviewed three such channel companies with varying sizes to compare their activities in: vendor managed inventory, order management, localized services, product promotion, product quality, cost, technical support, procurement, warehousing, as well as logistics, to see how the companies create their values and stay competitive.
The results show that although the focus companies provide similar value-added activities, they perform the activities differently to suit their respective suppliers and customers. The differences are summarized and some managerial insights are provided.
