Summary:碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 國際事務研究所碩士班 === 101 === The aim of this study is to analyze national cultural values through applying Hofstede and Hall’s national culture dimensions to the nonverbal messages of TV news in U.S.A. and Taiwan. By this comparative study of national cultures in the U.S.A. and Taiwan, this research aims to explore how their cultural dimensions characteristics shows on TV news among these two countries. This study is by using content analysis and to compare the non-verbal messages in criminal and disaster TV news in Taiwan and U.S.A. The result shows that national cultural dimensions in U.S.A. and Taiwan are correspond to Hofstede’s research. And the finding shows that co-exist of different dimensions can be happened.
