This research took natural building as example to uncover its own core value and context via literature reviews, which was followed by field work and in-depth interview to generalize local practice from natural building. Inspired by the life experience and the process of constructing natural buildings. To conclude the definition, meaning and value of Natural building from perception. The results as follows: 1. In addition to the three dimensions of sustainability, natural building also covers spiritual dimension. 2. Natural building is contributed to the adjustability of changes in the external environment of mankind. 3. The ambience of natural building is beneficial to develop the potential of human perception, and to know how to interact with natural more accurately. 4. The control of labor power and engineering methods of local material are issues for natural building in Taiwan. In other words, natural building is more than just a construction; it is an attitude towards sustainable life entirety with philosophical thinking as well. Richness of natural building results from its spiritual dimension, while experiencing the real value through subjective practicality so people’s viewpoints are transformed that sustainability of environment could last from generation to generation.
