When the government raises the section rate, the house tax will directly increase, and indirectly, the action will restrain the house price. Therefore, this research mainly takes the correlation between the section rate and the actual transaction price of houses for empirical analysis. Taking those years before and after the recent adjustment of section rate in Taipei (2011) as the benchmark to collect materials on housing price, this research chooses the section rate, transaction price of per square meter, total transaction price and land holding area as sample data of 2010 and 2011 for empirical analysis in Zhongzheng and Songshan District, representing the downtown administrative districts and in Wenshan and Beitou District, representing the suburb administrative districts. The result shows the section rate has the obvious positive correlation with the transaction price of per square meter and total transaction price. With the same section rate, the transaction housing price of per square and total transaction price in downtown districts are obviously higher than that in suburb districts. There is no obvious evidence showing that the transaction housing price of per square and total transaction price in 2011 are higher than that in 2010.
