While many studies focus on leisure participation often involving participants of teenagers, seniors, female immigrants and teachers, the role of new immigrant children are always understated. With the increasing of new immigrant students, a thorough study on their after-school leisure participation is indeed in urgent need. The purpose of this study is to explore the current situation of social support and after-school leisure participation for immigrant children among fourth to six grade in urban and rural areas of Tainan. This research was conducted through questionnaire surveys and semi-structured interviews. The results indicates as follows: The immigrant children obtain good social support； The motivation for leisure participation is generally low； The higher the society supports, the more the students participate leisure activities. On the contrary, the lower our society supports, the less students participate； Urban immigrant children tend to have higher participation and more varieties in leisure activities than the rural ones. In light of these findings, this study also provides recommendations for the government, educational authorities, school teachers, parents and researchers to design curricula, activates or research in the future.
