A Study of Sixth Graders’Knowledge,Attitudes and Behaviors towards Water Resources of Green School in Yunlin County

碩士 === 康寧大學 === 休閒資源暨綠色產業研究所 === 101 === The main purpose of this study was to research the current status of the knowledge about water, the attitudes towards the conservation of water resources and the behaviors to conserve water resources for the sixth graders in elementary school of Miaoli County. And it was to compare the students from green schools and non-green school among of the differences of the knowledge about water, the attitudes towards the conservation of water resources and the behaviors to conserve water resources. In order to reach the purpose, this study utilized the methodology of questionnaires, the samples were included 510 students of sixth grade in 10 green schools and 10 non-green schools of Yunlin County. The data was analyzed by using descriptive statistics, t-test, Pearson productmoment correlation and analysis of variance (ANOVA). The main findings of this study were as follows: The aspect of knowledge about water is insufficient, but they had positive and good behaviors of the attitudes towards the conservation of water resources and the behaviors to conserve water resources. For the sixth graders, knowledge about water had significantly differences towards different gender or social status. For the whole sixth graders students, the attitudes towards the conservation of water resources had significantly differences because of different gender. For the whole sixth graders students, behaviors to conserve water resources had significantly differences towards social status. The students’ knowledge about water and the attitudes towards the conservation of water resources were significantly correlated. The attitudes and behaviors to conserve water resources were significantly correlated. For the green school students and non-green school students, they were significantly different at the knowledge about water that is useful for the extension of water resources education. The study results would serve as references for teachers orconservation organizations when developing environmental education courses and promoting water resources orconservation education.
