Description
Summary:碩士 === 嶺東科技大學 === 視覺傳達設計研究所 === 101 === The environment of schools plays an important role in our life. School buildings should not provide teaching and learning only but also have beautiful outlooks. The most obvious first impression of schools is its front door view -- campus facades. During this decade, many new schools were built as a new architectural trend in Taichung City. We notice the outside and inside of new schools are different from traditional schools. Which kind of design is more popular among students?According to the “Assessment manual for campus friendliness” (Ministry of education, 2006), this research classified various new campus facades into 5 categories: 1. simplistic facades, 2. gateway facades, 3. modern facades, 4. landmark facades, 5. facades with special design. This research used questionnaires to investigate visual preference of primary school students on different design. The first and second graders students, whose cognitive functions are immature, were excluded from this research. This research found that facades of following four schools were on the most primary school students’ list: Jen-Mei Elementary School, Chang An Elementary School, Hui Lai Elementary School and Wagor Bilingual Academy. There were no landmark facades in these schools. This research interviews students and conclude their preference on new façade designs which contain form, color and visual preference. We notice that some of them like small parts of delicate design and lovely forms. Some elder students like good composition of color and forms. We also notice that all students emphasize the importance that green trees in campus.
