Furthermore, the challenges and the uncertainty of finance market are significantly rising. All of above elements have reduced the competitiveness of banks. Therefore, how to improve performance and enhance competitiveness? Based on the Grey forecasting model (GM) and the Data envelopment analysis (DEA), this research provides an effective method to assist banks to estimate the operation efficiency and help managers to find the best alliance partners in the future to enhance their competiveness. Realistic data of 30 banks were collected from Vietnam stock exchange, website of the state bank of Vietnam and their official website. The empirical results showed that the 11 recommended alliances could make the better performances. The results are good sound for banks to select the alliance candidates in restructuration activities in Vietnam.
