The system applies the micro-step driving technique to control the linear stepping motor and push the piston in the syringe-like container. The flow quantity is controlled by measuring the volume of the fluids. The system was able to quantitatively control highly viscous fluids up to 22,000mpa.s, solving the problem of traditional flowmeters that are unable to precisely control the flow quantity of highly viscous fluids. Coupled with an output quantity report device, the system is able to display the output quantity of the fluids using a tablet personal computer as a user-friendly interface. The quantity control system developed in this study not can accurately determine the output quantity of highly viscous fluids but also has the advantages of easy operation, simple structures, and quick quantification. The technique of the system can be applied in automation equipment such as food blenders and hair dye blending machines. It is expected the development of the system will make contributions to the automation industry.
