The reduction of blade natural frequency results in test difficulty, the growing of test time and equipment costs. Blade testing is primarily for natural frequency test, static test and fatigue test. In this paper, the related patents in the USPTO, EPO and SIPO were searched out. Blade test-related patents and technology development are analyzed, including the management of patent distribution over time for wind turbine blade test technologies, patentee, patented IPC; the technical level, individual patent technology, problem and effects, and drawing Means-function matrix. The analysis shows that the key trends of the patented systems are to reduce the time and cost of testing with fatigue test. In this paper also proposes an innovative concept test equipment to winch system to replace hydraulic actuators, to reduce equipment costs and space requirements and can be adapted to different sizes of blades.
