In this study, four main goals are: (1) To collect severe natural disasters and socio-economic events nationally and internationally, (2) To investigate the relation between the population of patients with mental disorder and Gross Domestic Product(GDP), (3) To understand the relations between the population and the age or gender of patients with mental disorder, and (4) To examine the relation between the population of patients with mental disorder and the regions. Results show that the severe natural disasters and socio-economic events, including September 11 attacks in the U.S. in 2001, Indian Ocean tsunami in 2004, Typhoon Morakot in 2009, and the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, have caused great influence on domestic patients with mental disorders, by increasing population of mental disorder patients. Additionally results help to understand the significance of natural disasters and socio-economic events on patients with mental disorders. In conclusion, even if the patients are not directly attacked by external force of natural disasters and socio-economic events, the situation of mental will be also affected.
