The perception of machine usually comes in huge. Owning to the fact that an action requires a power source, the size of machine becomes larger and larger. Therefore, the cost of machine goes up accordingly. Nowadays people in the company pursuit cost-down. Cost-effectiveness analysis plays an important role in most companies. Hence we should work hard to increase productivity. The goal of this research is to reduce the cost of machine with a single power source and can be made movable in two directions. Composite four-bar linkages used to do the fixed and repetitive motions are popular designs in machines, and most of them just use one power source. The paper presents the research on different four-bar linkages with a rotational driving force to repeat fixed and assigned motions along the x and y directions. This just needs a power switch and a relay to turn on the power source of the mechanism module to complete 4 sequential movements of pick and place, without the help of PLC, or other PC-Based computer controlled system using the software of the LabVIEW, VB, and VC. The above four-bar linkages can be modified to become a cutting mechanism. Add a clapper cylinder or other components on the above four-bar linkages can increase more functions.
