Summary: | 碩士 === 開南大學 === 公共事務管理學系 === 101 === Since the opening of the Three Links, direct flights, and tourism across the Taiwan Strait, more than one million Chinese tourists have visited Taiwan, which benefits Taiwan’s tourism industry dramatically. It also boosts Taiwan’s airline industry, hotel industry, catering industry, and transportation industry. Overall, it has huge impacts on Taiwan’s economy.
Due to its historical fame, the Culture Resort of the Jiang has been a tourist attraction promoted by Taoyuan county government as one of its city marketing strategies. This thesis uses questionnaire to explore the Taiwanese and Chinese tourists’ preferences toward the Culture Resort of the Jiang. From the network policy perspective, this thesis discusses the benefits and prospect for Taoyuan’s tourism industry.
The research finds that historical background has increased the celebrity effect of the Culture Resort of the Jiang, but the economic effect brought by the Chinese tourists is not as much as expected. The reasons include price competition from travel agencies, the time constraints, and the options of many other tourist spots in Taiwan. As a result, this thesis suggests Taoyuan county government promote its tourism resources, especially to individual Chinese tourists. Hopefully the Taoyuan International Airport can serve as an incentive to lure more tourists. Effective policies include the improvement of transportation infrastructure, the investment of star-rated hotels, and the integration of tourism resources.
