Summary: | 碩士 === 開南大學 === 商學院碩士在職專班 === 101 === The purpose of this study is to investigate the implementation of reading instruction in elementary schools in Taoyuan County, and espe-cially to find out the relations between reading instruction contents and self-efficacy rearding elementary school teachers with different back-grounds.
The findings of this study are as follows:The reading competence of elementary teachers in Taoyuan County ranges from medium to high level.Regarding teachers’ reading literacy level, the best is "reading skills", followed by "instrumental attitude toward reading" and "spontaneous reading attitude".Different genders or education present no significantly different impact on elementary school teachers’ reading literacy in Taoyuan County.Differences ages, years of service, and school size present significantly different impact on elementary school teachers’s reading literacy in Taoyuan Country.The current level of reading instruction of elementary school teachers in Taoyuan County ranges from medium to high.Regarding reading instruction, the best is "activity patterns", followed by "instruction theme" and "teaching strategies".There is a significant positive correlation between teachers’ reading instruction and self-efficacy."Reading literacy" exerts an indirect effect on "reading instruction" and "self-efficacy", in which the greatest impact is on spontaneous reading attitude literacy.The biggest problem forward elementary school teachers’ reading instruction is "lack of teaching time" and there is a great need to strengthen teachers’ "planning a comprehensive reading project".Elementary school teachers most often utilize peer-sharing through "accumulated experience from teaching and thinking, and amendments" to enhance the teaching of reading ability; in addition, there is a great need to provide adequate time for teaching reading in order to support the reading instruction implementation.
