This research was mainly based on the work, Motor Skills Development periods, developed by Gallahue in 1996. The motor skill developments for preschoolers, aged from 2 to 7, are located in the periods of beginning, foundation, and mature. For research demand, the initial three periods were further divided into nine sub-periods which are pre-beginning, beginning, post-beginning, pre-foundation, foundation, post-foundation, pre-mature, mature, and post-mature. The intact sampling technique was utilized to collect data from the preschoolers, aged from 4 to 6, at Kinmen public kindergartens from April to November in 2012. There were 630 preschoolers at Kinmen area in 2012. However, due to the physical, mental disable, or learning disorders, there were 576 preschoolers then invited to join the research. There were 305 boy and 271 girl preschoolers, and the their percentages of the total were 53% and 47%. The fundamental motor skill criteria were developed by the collecting data, and subdivided into different age and gender groups. The major findings of the criteria are as follows: 1. The periods preschoolers most motor skills located in demonstrated the skill levels of the preschoolers. For instance, most motor skills of girl preschoolers, aged from 6 yrs and 7 months to 6 yrs and 9 months, located in the pre-foundation period, indicated that the most girl preschoolers at this age group can demonstrated the pre-foundation motor skills well, and are ready to move forward to the foundation period. Also, girl preschoolers at this age showed more advanced development on “Dodge”, “Catching”, and “Stopping” balls than the other motor skills. 2. The preschoolers at certain age group demonstrated different levels of different skills. For example, the dodge skills of boy preschoolers, aged from 4 yrs. to 4 yrs. 3 months, are primary on the pre-beginning and beginning periods. Compared with the other skills, their dodge skills were obviously undeveloped. The catching and stopping skills of girl preschoolers at same age group were rarely on pre-beginning period. But, their catching and stopping skills were relatively un-matured when compared with the other skills. 3. With the increasing of age for preschooler, their skills were tended to move to the upper periods. The skill levels of older preschoolers were more likely located on the foundation and mature periods. 4. When no skills of preschoolers showed on the pre-beginning or beginning periods, it was indicated that the initial skills of younger preschoolers are well developed, and are ready to go the next period.
