This study was to explore the factors that influence the behavioral intentions of junior high school students on extracurricular reading. The research model based on the Theory of Planned Behavior as a framework, and adopted facets from Flow Theory. Eleven variables were used to investigate the factors that influence the behavioral intentions of junior high school students on extracurricular reading; They were “Attitude”, “Subjective norm”, “Perceived behavior control ”, “Challenge-skill balance”, “Clear goals”, “Action-awareness merging”, “Unambiguous feedback”, “Concentration on the task at hand”, “Loss of self-consciousness”, “Transformation of time”, and “Autotelic experience”. Data was collected through convenience sampling. Questionnaires were distributed to junior high school students, and a total of 335 paper questionnaires were completed and returned. Chinese version SPSS 18.0 statistical data analysis software was used for demographic variables, reliability, correlation analysis, and multiple regression. The statistics analysis results showed that the factors such as “Attitude”, “Subjective norm”, “Challenge-skill balance”, “Clear goals”, “Autotelic experience”indeed have significant influence on the behavioral intentions of junior high school students on extracurricular reading. Finally, this study offers practical suggestion for parents, teachers and the educational sectors as a teaching reference. Chen, Yue-Yang Hsieh, Hsiow-Ling 陳岳陽 謝琇玲 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 86 zh-TW
