Summary: | 碩士 === 義守大學 === 醫務管理學系 === 101 === Purpose:Population ageing and rising in life expectancy are the two major causes which have led Taiwan to an ageing society, accompany with chronic disease and diseases that would affect physical functions increasing. Due to insufficient nursing staffs, the issues of caring for the elderlies and chronic disease patients are expected to be resolved with the application of telemedicine. Since physician is one of the main caring staffs of patients, their intention should be given the highest concern in order to utilize the application of telemedicine. However, past studies on telemedicine mostly were not based on physician’s perspectives. Hence the present study aims to investigate the factors that would affect physician’s intention to use telemedicine.
Methods:The present study adopts the decomposed theory of planned behavior, and a survey methodology with theory based measurement items was conducted by employing convenience sampling. Research subjects are physicians from medical centers in Taiwan, including national and different geographical areas medical centers.
Results and Conclusions:A number of 300 questionnaires were distributed. Out of 125 returned questionnaires, 106 samples were effective. According to the survey result, perceived usefulness and compatibility significantly affect physician’s attitude to telemedicine. The influences from peers and superiors are the two factors that affect subjective norms significantly, whilst self-efficacy, resources and government backups have significant influences on perceived behavioral control. As a result, attitude, subjective norms and perceived behavioral control all have statistically significant effect on physician’s behavioral intention to use telemedicine.
