Summary: | 博士 === 義守大學 === 材料科學與工程學系 === 101 === Bulk metallic glasses (BMGs) and metallic glass thin film (MGTF) possess excellent unique properties, such as good engineering properties such as good thermal stability, high yield strength, high elastic strain, and good corrosion resistance, long-term antimicrobial ability, and were considered as an ideal candidate for medical related tools. Martensitic stainless steel is a common material for surgical tool parts, especially surgical blade. The blade sharpness index (BSI) of commercial blade is about 0.34 and the optima BSI of 0.25 occurs at the Zr-Cu MGTF coating, which exhibits 26.5% improvement on the sharpness. Due to the micron-sized grains and its weak bounding of stainless steel, the blade exhibits a wavy shape blade edge-tip and rough surface after edge-tip grinding. This implies that the smoother of blade edge-tip the higher cutting ability it has.
To investigate the corrosion behavior of Zr based MG with Si addition (0-1 a.t.%) in 2 concentration salt aqueous by potentiostat and weight loss analysis. Zr based MG with 0.25 a.t.% Si addition reveals the optima result which possess the highest corrosion potential and lowest corrosion current density in both salt aqueous. The result indicates with Si addition, the anti-corrosion ability is better than none Si addition Zr based MG and the anti-corrosion ability doesn’t improve with higher Si contain.
