Summary: | 碩士 === 弘光科技大學 === 化妝品科技研究所 === 101 === The alginate is widely been used in our daily life, for example: the pharmaceutical preparations, medical, cosmetic, food industry and textile industry. It is mainly act as drug carriers, covering materials, thickener or food additives. The dimensional stability of the colloidal micro particle would effect on the success or failure of the application. However, there are very little literature to research or investigate the dimensional stability of the alginate micro particle. The purpose of this study is to explore the alginate particles of different concentrations and the different degrees of cross-linking, after placed under three different temperatures(4 °C, 25 °C, 50 °C) for 240 hours. Then we observe the watering situation and investigate the changes of the alginate colloidal micro particle size. The experiment result shows that the alginate micro particle under different concentrations and different degrees of cross linking had all substantially reduced the size in 24 hours. Later the dimensional change tends to slow down. Under the environment of 50 °C, the colloidal micro particle dimensional change is more obvious than 4 °C and 25 °C. The standardization diameter of the colloidal micro particle formed in 0.8 % alginate respectively with 1 %, 5 %, 10 % (w/v) calcium chloride crosslinking, had reduced from 0 hr in 1 into 0.71,0.71 0.78 after 240 hr. The diameter in 1.4 % alginate had reduced into 0.74, 0.75 and 0.81. The diameter in 2.0 % alginate had reduced into 0.77, 0.80 and 0.84.These results interpret that the alginate particle’s structure is less solid and looser in higher temperature environment with lower concentration and lower degree of cross linking. The colloidal micro particle size would be larger with the change of the time.
