Description
Summary:碩士 === 玄奘大學 === 應用心理學系碩士在職專班 === 101 === Past studies explore the socio-economic status and the relationship between deviant behaviors studied extensively, but there are still no clear conclusions. In this study, the participants are 356 junior high school students in Hsin-Chu City. The purposes of this study are as following: (1) For Junior high school students, the socioeconomic status impact on their deviant behaviors. (2) To understand the influences of money contingent self-worth on deviant behaviors. (3) To inspect whether money contingent self-worth is the moderator between socioeconomic status and deviant behaviors. Tools used in this study included "Socioeconomic Survey", " Money Contingent Self-worth Scale" and " Deviant Behavior Scale." The multiple regression analysis results showed that: (1) Socioeconomic status has a negative impact on deviant behaviors; that is, the lower the socioeconomic status is, the more deviant behaviors people have. (2) Money contingent self-worth has a positive effect on deviant behaviors. In other words, the higher money contingent self-worth is, the worse the deviant behaviors are. (3) Money contingent self-worth is the moderator between socioeconomic status and deviant behaviors. For people who have high money contingent self-worth, socioeconomic status has strong negative impact on deviant behaviors. However, for those who have low money contingent self-worth, socioeconomic status has weak negative impact on deviant behaviors. Finally, based on the research, implications for educators and suggestions for future research were provided.
