Process sensor industry is unique because lifetime of sensor industry is long and growth is stable. Apart from using multiple technologies, this industry develops different products for different markets and specific applications. Due to intense competition, every company is developing new products to show its presence in the market. Innovative research will need an effective research process management which can create value to customers in emerging markets. Effective research process can act as key link for satisfying customer requirement, developing new technology, improving manufacturing process capability. This process also analyzes systematic mutual relationship and solves indefinite questions in new product development cycle. Competitive market demands efficient product development process and continuous improvement is work process. The success of a new product development depends on is to integrate and balance R&D development stage, customer requirement and industry standards. This thesis analyzes major brands in the industry, customers & company internal process to establish a related R&D process. This thesis uses qualitative research approach for case study of Radar Sensor. Firstly, this study will focus on development trend in related industry. At the same discusses R&D strategy followed by major players in the industry. Secondly, the study discusses how can Case company learns from product development stategy, adapting to new technology using Quality Deployment Function method (QFD) followed by major players in the industry. This study will help case company establish efficient R&D system to develop efficient links between customer requirements, R&D design, and components requirements. The framework of this thesis based on case company using Quality function deployment method (QFD) for development of new product i.e Radar Sensor. QFD method will find relationship between customers’ requirement, industry standards and product design. R&D will make a plan schedule of new product design which includes prioritizing sequence and conformance to customers’ requirement. In future the research can be used in new technical analysis of different kinds of new products and can be integrated a new products development study. Based on the requirements a part to QFD process can be implemented in a case company for R&D decision making and to develop new market oriented product more precisely.
