Summary: | 碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 教育領導與發展研究所 === 101 === This study intended to understand the status quo and the relationship between the teachers’ leadership behaviors of student clubs and effectiveness of club management in the public elementary schools of New Taipei City. A self-designed questionnaire was used and distributed to the high-grade students in elementary schools of New Taipei City. There were 789 copies of questionnaire sent out and with 580 valid returns at response rate of 73.51%. The following statistical methods were adopted to analyze the data collected by the questionnaire survey, such as frequency distribution, t-test, one-way ANOVA, correlations, a stepwise multiple regression, etc.
The results of the study found that the status quo of the teachers’ leadership behaviors of student clubs in addition to the effect of the charm on the above average level, the remaining dimensions were excellent. The results of club management in most of the dimensions were excellent except the performance of public relations on the level of good. Among background variables, students’ gender, teachers’ gender, reasons for participating the club, club size, types of club and the time length in participating the club showed significant differences in students’ perception of club teachers’ leadership behaviors. The following variables significantly influenced students’ perception of the effectiveness in club management such as teachers’ gender, reasons for participating the club, types of club, the time length in participating the club and the grade of students. Moreover, the teachers’ leadership behaviors of student clubs and effectiveness of club management were significantly positive correlated. The effectiveness of club management could be best predicted by the professional competence and incentives encouraging behavior of the club teachers.
Based on the results, the following suggestions are proposed to enhance the effectiveness of club management. The club teachers should strengthen professional competence, improve student achievement by actively encouraging students to express, attract parents to participate in club affairs and help students to show themselves and to regain the initiative. As for the school authorities, they should investigate students’ interests and establish new learning clubs based on students’ interests, facilitate inter-school club exchanges, as well as hire club teachers with profession and enthusiasm.
