SaaS is a software delivery method that provides access to software and its functions remotely as a Web-based service, e.g., Google doc, YouTube, and Dropbox. For the PaaS model, cloud providers deliver a development platform including operating system, program execution environment, and database. Application developers can develop and run their software on the cloud platform, e.g., Google App Engine, Facebook, and Hadoop. In the IaaS model, the key technology is how to efficiently virtualize the computing and storage resources of physical machines (PMs) to provision a large number of virtual machines (VMs). Each customer (user) can rent a VM from the cloud provider to execute his/her applications. In this thesis, we integrate the virtualization into our developed SaaS tool to design an efficient title: “Design of Cloud Management Layer for High-Performance File Transfer”. There are four main components in the developed cloud-based management layer: manager selection, authentication, synchronization, and cloud-based file transfer. The manager selection utilizes load balancing to select a load-light manger server for each user. The authentication is to verify the user identification. The synchronization can synchronize the files between the client side and the cloud side. The cloud-based file transfer provide a scalable storage to store user files. Finally, we perform simulation experiments to evaluate the performance of the developed cloud-based management layer. Jenn-Wei Lin 林振緯 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 50 zh-TW
