The paper concerns the research problem of how national intellectual capital change during 2008 financial crisis. By selected nine sample countries similar to Taiwan. The results aim to describe human capital, market capital, process capital, renewal capital in detail, during 2005-2010 timeline.
Results show the sequence of intellectual capital was human capital, process capital then renewal capital. Human capital and renewal capital were significantly affected during financial crisis. The higher human capital, process capital and renewal capital they have, the better risk-control ability they got.
This paper tries to give advices to policymakers who concerned about the interaction between intellectual capital and external impact of environment, which related to national knowledge-based development.
