Summary: | 碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 景觀設計學系碩士班 === 101 === Due to the awareness of environmental aesthetics in these years, environmental cognition is not only on the environmental conservation but more emphasize on the additional profits of environmental beauty. To achieve the balance between human and nature, landscape aesthetics assessment were generally used in regional planning and various physical developments. Yet a strict operation procedure by using visual simulation on scenic beauty assessment remains vacant.
To intense the precision and objectivity of scenic beauty assessment in using visual simulation, five principles of visual simulation which addressed by Sheppard (1989) were introduced in this study, and come out with a Standardization process of Visual Simulation which contains eleven steps: Identifying the purposes of scenic beauty assessment, Selection of sample sites and establishment of the criteria of viewing frames, Site survey and analysis, setting of 3D space unit, noise elimination of simulated image, Developing image structure of sample site, Selection of simulation materials, Establishing methods of simulation images, visual simulation exhibit, pre-test of visual simulation exhibit, Assessment on the test outcomes of simulation images. In these steps, noise elimination of simulated image and pre-test of visual simulation exhibit are usually being missed in the past studies.
To realize the availability of standardization process, an open to public assessment is proceeded in this study, and shows the standardization of visual simulation is helpful in subject’s identification and message communication from simulated images. The establishment of Standardization of Visual Simulation may hopefully be useful in the simulation method as well as in evaluation process to the landscape aesthetics evaluation which use visual simulation as media in the future.
