Many foreign companies invest geat amount of money in the construction of the hot-springs hotel. All kinds of brand-new recreational hot-springs equipment attract tourists and increase the economic benefits. Most of the hot-spring industry pay much attention to the development of their own hot-spring bathing facilities and creation of store characteristics, while ignoring to display the whole environmental image of the hot-spring area and the characteristics of the land. many external public space of hot-springs area is a lack of local features and attractive. This situation result in the visitor’s purpose to the spa area is in the indoor of spa hotels, not in outdoor public spaces. As a result, the unique cultural and characteristics of Taiwan's hot springs areas are gradually being weakened..
Beitou hot spring area is one of the famous hot-springs region, convenient transportation attract to many international tourists. However, they can’t display the rich cultural and historical resources completely in this environment.
Therefore, this study selected the Beitou hot-spring living space for the main area, for in-depth study of the hot-spring living environment and characteristics of resources, to explore the development of hot-spring environment image. In this study, the main method are literature collection, field observation records and interviews, through these way to explore the environmental development of Beitou hot-spring area , understanding and analysis the environment issues and development potential of the hot-spring area, and then field survey many domestic and foreign famous hot -spring area. To summarize, analyze and compare the environmental characteristics and missing of spa living space, as the direction reference of the living space of Beitou hot-spring area.
Finally, we comprehensive discuss the literature, base survey and case analysis, to propose the direction of development of Beitou hot springs living space. Through computer-aided simulation graphics rendering with features and creative planning and design programs, to deliberate how to use local cultural history and natural landscape to create unique and attractive environment of hot spring space. Based on the findings ,to propose the conclusion and recommendations, as a reference for future studies. We expect by the way of environment rehabilitatation for the living space of the hot-spring areas , to show the local characteristics and culture of Taiwan hot spring areas.
