| Summary: | 碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 宗教學系 === 101 === Taize is a religious community established in the last century. It has a vision of Christian reconciliation and is devoted to youth cultivation. Being famous for liturgical music, it nevertheless does not belong to any single denomination, but rather maintains a friendly relationship to every sect. This thesis focuses on Taize’s music, investigating how it affects today’s Christian spirituality.
The second chapter endeavors to find out the origin of Taize prayer music from the Bible, looking for its foundations in the long history of Christianity, that is, the short sentence prayer of the Orthodox Church, the liturgical prayer of Western monastery and the congregational music of the Protestant Church. The third chapter introduces the development of Taize, analyzing its prayer style and the music creation. The fourth chapter continues to analyze the categories of Taize prayer music and their different functions. Finally, the thesis concludes with a discussion of how Taize prayer affects today’s Christian spirituality, how it helps to form our prayer habit in personal, familial and communion life so that we may meet God in a way different from intellectual discourse.
