The metaphors I use, such as “the underground,” “the fog,” and “the sea,” etc. are to disclose the unwitting inhibition and the patriarchal rules that have been governing Kinmen natives’ everyday life and the entire island’s possible prospects. Besides, since the Chinese Civil War had calmed down in the late 1970’s, the irresistible flow of development is booming. On the Kinmen island, both substantial and intangible memories are changing overwhelmingly. In this thesis, I am trying to use feminine-writing as an alternative to resist the official (masculine) statements about this place. Also, by using these metaphors to describe my homeland is another alternative for finding out the articulation-point between the self and the voiceless land under the control of the clan-structure. Briefly, it’s a to-and-fro way leading the living memories into their depth, and to the rewriting of what they have already been written. Soong, Wen-Li 宋文里 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 109 zh-TW
