Summary: | 碩士 === 佛光大學 === 未來學系 === 101 === This study aimed to analyze the effects of Futures Workshop on future image by using its three stages: transferring the past, facing the present, and creating the future. The main purpose of this study was to explore how the Futures Workshop affected junior high school students’ future image and what the factors were.
The researcher applied qualitative method including data collection, observation notes, participants' feedback sheets and pictures, interviews with participants, and the researcher’s diary. All the data were summarized as follows:
1.According to the theory and curriculum of Futures Workshop, which includes the three stages "deconstructing the negative experience learning" (the past), "facing the current learning situation" (the present), and "creating the future dream," the researcher discovered the participants’ learning experience and their future images.
2.The negative factors of the participants’ learning involved “teachers’ attitudes towards students”, “ways of teaching”, “parents’ attitudes towards children”, “achievement-oriented”, “policy of education and course syllabus”, and “peer relationship”.
3.The participants’ negative learning experience deeply affected their future image.
4.Through role analysis, role play, and discussion, the participants realized their past learning experience and thus expressed their feelings.
5."Facing the current learning situation" helped the participants to explore the possibilities of various learning styles, and thus to achieve fluency (FLOW).
6."Creating the future dream" enabled the participants to strengthen positive attitudes towards both their imagination of the future and their expectations for the future.
7.Positive future image helped the participants to learn happily and face their future in a positive way.
Hopefully, the results above provide the references for the future practice and future research.
